Refurbished Equipment Warranty Service Policy for Better Brands Co.
How to Obtain Warranty Service:
All warranty services are provided by Better Brands Co. or the importer of the machine.
When reaching out to us, please have your machine on hand as we will attempt to troubleshoot the issue remotely through some basic diagnostic steps. If the issue cannot be resolved, we will provide detailed instructions on how to return your machine to our service department. For the best warranty service experience, it is crucial to retain the original packaging of your machine. Better Brands Co. assumes no responsibility for machines transported without their original packaging.
To receive warranty service, troubleshooting, and technical support from Better Brands Co., you must present proof of purchase in the form of your original order number. For orders placed online or over the phone, this information was emailed to you upon order confirmation and is also included on the packing slip.
Warranty Coverage Period
All refurbished equipment purchased from Better Brands Co. is covered under a six-month warranty, effective from the date of shipment.
What the Warranty Covers:
- Replacement parts and labor costs to correct defects in materials and workmanship for a specified period from the original delivery date. Please refer to your machine's Better Brands Co. product page for specific warranty coverage details.
- Shipping costs related to warranty replacements or repairs within 30 days of machine receipt will be covered by Better Brands Co., including UPS ground shipment costs both ways. Expedited shipping costs beyond UPS Ground (e.g., UPS Next Day Air) will not be reimbursed.
- After 30 days, customers are responsible for shipping items to Better Brands Co., while we cover return shipping costs (full shipping insurance for the machine's value is available for an additional fee).
What the Warranty Does Not Cover:
- Freight shipping costs.
- On-site labor or labor performed outside Better Brands Co.
- General wear and tear on parts such as gaskets, filters, grinder burrs, plastic parts like bean hoppers, etc.
- Regular maintenance items, including group head gaskets, dispersion screens, vacuum breakers, expansion valve/OPV seats, safety valves.
- Issues related to water damage, poor water quality, scaling, and improper use of descaling chemicals. Ensure your water is suitable for espresso machines as these issues are not covered.
- Usage in commercial environments.
- Products with altered or removed serial numbers.
- Damage due to accidents, abuse, misuse, neglect, faulty installation, mishandling, shipping damage, power surges, or external causes.
- Operation outside the parameters stated in user documentation.
- Use of non-original manufacturer parts, including PID devices.
- Modifications or unauthorized servicing.
- Acts of God (lightning, floods, power outages, natural disasters).
- Costs related to routine maintenance installations (gaskets, o-rings, grinder burrs, etc.).
- Expedited shipping for self-repair parts.
- Glass or ceramic products (e.g., Inker, Chemex, Hario, Yama) are excluded from warranty. Contact us immediately if your order arrives damaged. We cannot replace broken items shipped internationally, and overseas shipping is at the buyer's risk.
- Products taken or shipped outside of the 50 United States.
Additional Warranty Notes:
- Warranties are non-transferable.
- Open Box and Like New products used commercially are not eligible for warranty coverage.
- If a machine is found to be in proper working condition after inspection (operator error), the customer will cover labor costs and return shipping.
- We cannot provide return shipping for machines without original packaging.
- We reserve the right to repair or replace equipment. In some cases, a replacement machine may be provided instead of repairing the original.
- Machines being replaced under warranty must be returned to Better Brands Co. before the replacement is issued.
